Soundwave was my muse

Today was not the day, neither was yesterday. Actually I decided I wanted to be an artist around 35 yrs ago ( ever the procrastinator), My muses back then were usually soundwave or other inhabitants of cybertron various members of He-mans heroic crew or occasional star was character. What I do recall is the love of the graphic style, the simplicity of the lines and detail of personality.

After an uneventful period at school i attended Wakefield art college where I left with 2 a-levels in art and art history along with my level 3 NVQ in art & design. Expanding my interest into art opened my eyes to the likes of Roy Lichtenstein, robert Indiana, jasper johns and how the pop art movement used text in the imagery. I was obsessed.

There was a brief period passed where I could be found skulking around alleyways with a bag full of spray cans, ‘installing’ thankfully long removed efforts of ‘street art’.

After a failed attempt at a degree in furniture and interior design at Newcastle university I turned to warehouse work where I eventually became a qualified engineer and to this day that’s what is paying the bills.

But,

I still want to be an Artist.
